Electronic Village Video Competition - UAE 2018-2019

On the occasion of the 47th UAE National Day celebrations, Electronic Village in Abu Dhabi is launching a new competition for short films. We invite people from all over the world to showcase their talents by creating and submitting a short film which is not more than 5 minutes duration.

The contest is based within the project of 100 sites of the UAE as adopted by HE Mohammed Ahmed Al Suwaidi ,the Emirati poet. The project '100 sites in UAE ' aims to re-discover the historical sites in the UAE and seeks to invest the energies and talents of young people in photography , documentation and directing their creativity in the revolution of information technology and activating them using the medium of sites and platforms of social communication to serve the culture , knowledge and also to promote national affiliation.

Either in the list of 100 places from the UAE or from the list of places indicated.

The video can be recorded with camera, mobile, webcam..etc.

The participation is open to all citizens, residents and visitors in the UAE, for all ages and nationalities, to showcase their talent by filming and delivering a short video of 1 minute to 10 minutes maximum. Expected an idea, a special scene, or a creative snapshot of places in the UAE.

The short videos can be photographed with iPhone, iPad, any mobile phones, ordinary cameras, professional cameras, DJI tools, GO PRO, photography aircraft (Aldron and others). The contest prevents the participation of commercial companies or studios.

 

Participants are expected to select one or more of the 100 locations in the UAE and provide short documentaries in a way that they see in documenting the stories, events or places on the list.

 

Deadline for submitting the video is 31/12/2018.

Participants can submit any number of videos.

Preferred languages are English or Arabic.

 

How to Participate

 

1. Create a YouTube account and sign into YouTube.

2. Upload your video to your YouTube account as UNLISTED video and Share the video link using the submisssion form below :-

 

Winners

 

The Judging Panel will select the winning entries based on the following equally weighted criteria:

- Content

- Creativity

- Technical expertise

- Innovation, originality and impact

- Memorability

- Popularity of the video from the likes it receives when shortlisted and published in our social media page.

 

Prizes

 

Winning entries will receive cash prizes and special recognition at all relevant Electronic Village events, and will be prominently featured and promoted through the social media channels of Electronic Village.

First Prize : 1000 $

Second Prize :700 $

Third Prize :500 $

Fourth Prize: 250 $

Fifth Prize: 100 $

In parallel, the winners of this competition and the three winners of the competition may be decided later on for their first edition last year under the patronage of the poet Mohammed Ahmed Al Suwaidi to attend the e-Village events.
